NewsFreiburg translation agency Peschel Communications will present itself at an Open House event which will also raise money for charity on 5th November from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Wallstraße 9.Freiburg. Peschel Communications, an internationally active translation agency, will present itself to the public for the first time on Thursday 5th November 2009, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The diverse aspects of translation work will be explained at the company offices in Wallstraße 9, Freiburg and a charity donation will be made as part of the open house event. School pupils and students, existing and potential customers alike will be able to gain an insight into both the careers of translation and interpreting and the working methods of the agency. The company’s employees will be on hand to answer any questions and provide visitors with information materials. Peschel Communications was founded in 1997 by certified interpreter Anja Peschel. Today, the company employs six permanent staff and is supported by a pool of around 150 freelance translators and interpreters. In addition to specialist translations and interpreting services, the translation agency offers proofreading in English and foreign languages, voiceover recordings and conference consulting. The permanent staff of certified translators cover the English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch languages, and specialise in a range of fields such as solar energy, medicine, law and business. Translations – which may be certified if necessary – are carried out in accordance with the norm EN 15038. Throughout many years working as a conference interpreter, company owner Anja Peschel has “lent” her voice to many prominent figures in the worlds of politics, business and sport, from Kofi Annan to Michel Platini. And the organisers have included a nice gesture to round off the event: Freiburg’s Deutsch-Afghanische Initiative (German-Afghan Initiative) will receive a donation from Peschel Communications for every visitor to the open house. Approximately 60,000 visitors from over 150 countries flocked to attend the fair. A team from Freiburg translation agency, Peschel Communications, provided interpreters for the many international visitors and exhibitors at the event, and gained knowledge of all the solar industry's latest developments. Since the inception of Intersolar in 2000, Peschel Communications has held responsibility for all the translation and interpreting needs of the event. This year was no exception. In its capacity as an official service provider, the specialist team provided interpreting services for the duration of the Munich trade fair. These ranged from simultaneous interpreting at the opening press conferences to liaison interpreting, providing support for exhibitors and visitors. The Peschel Communications translation team was also at the fair, taking the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the most recent developments in solar thermal technology and photovoltaics. "Specialist translators and interpreters must not only be comfortable in their working languages, but also need to be extremely well versed in their areas of expertise," explains Andrea Quint, certified translator and project manager at Peschel Communications. "Having served many major clients in the solar industry for years, this sort of training is part and parcel of our work. We also really enjoy it, since it is incredibly interesting and we learn so much." The Peschel Communications team is now looking forward to applying its extensive expertise to many interesting assignments between now and the next Intersolar in spring 2010. |
